It seems with each passing day, there are less leaves on the trees, and more beneath our feet. The sun rises begrudgingly, and retires early. The air’s a bit more crisp, the sky, a bit more piercing in its hue. Lilies give way to mums. Corn and tomatoes move aside, letting apples and pumpkins take center stage. It’s a fleeting time of year, which is perhaps why we treasure it so.
