Machine Operator: 2nd Shift

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

As a team member, operate machinery and equipment that manufactures the highest quality vitamins and supplements.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:    

Set up lines and run all related machinery and equipment.  Inspect finished products.  Ability to recognize mechanical opportunities and proactively coordinate with the Maintenance Team .

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-2 years of related manufacturing experience required, ideally in a cGMP environment.
  • Must be able to read, write, and transpose information accurately from work orders, labels and product lot documents.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Must be able to stand long periods of time.

Product Development Manager: INNATE Response

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONS:

The Product Development Manager is the primary lead for analysis of market, category, competitive environment, trends and consumer preferences for application to the development of INNATE Response vitamins and supplements.  Works closely with members of the INNATE Response team, to create new product concepts and project business cases for executive approval to support FoodState® defining objectives and the Innate Brand strategic goals.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    

  • Research and develop new product business cases for executive approval. Lead the innovation process by facilitating Innovation Summits to solidify INNATE Response’s pipeline.
  • Manages content development and claim substantiation for new products and ingredients.
  • Facilitate new product training for the INNATE Team.   
  • Acts as lead in the development and completion of approved content and market research for New Product Tool Kits and for layout and content of New Product labeling.
  • As a Steering Committee member, represents all INNATE Response products and decisions related to product changes, material specifications and renovations. Lead for Steering Committee project approval presentations on all Innate product renovations and requests for new sku or related changes.
  • Responsible for providing all forecasts to Steering Committee for KPI monthly tracking for the first 18 months of a product life and to report on KPI status in monthly FoodState leadership meetings.
  • Collaborate with INNATE Response team in the initial creative development process of brand messaging, artwork, product content, positioning and educational materials.  
  • Creates Executive summary and leads post-mortem analysis of product success through 18 month new product life cycle.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • 5-7 years experience in product development ideation, concept development and business case rationale in the natural products industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Nutrition, Biochemistry, Botany or related major. 
  • Expertise in labeling and marketing of Dietary Supplements under FDA guidelines and DSHEA.
  • Strong public speaking, verbal communication and writing skills.
  • Project management skills and proven ability to manage several projects concurrently.
  • Proficient in qualitative and quantitative analysis of product sales, market trends and consumer preferences.

Utilizes USP or established methods to qualitatively and quantitatively analyze routine substances.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    

  • Prepares chemical reagents needed to perform routine testing. 
  • Conducts ordering and stocking of laboratory supplies.
  • Provides assistance with chemical tracking and disposal.

  • Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related field.

PRIMARY PURPOSE:

The Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for the development and execution of consumer marketing activities and tactics. He/She oversees PR, advertising, social media, company websites, consumer events, and integrated creative development. He/She manages staff and external agencies to meet defined goals. The Marketing Communications Manager finds unexpected and creative ways to deliver our unique, bold and disruptive storytelling and works in partnership with the Director of Marketing, senior management, internal cross-functional teams and external resources to create campaigns, events and communications materials to raise the bar, standards, and transparency expectations in the supplement industry.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

● Develop and execute ad and marketing campaigns and content, carrying themes and messaging across all communications channels.

● Develop and monitor KPIs for key marketing initiatives, update monthly trackers, and provide periodic reports to management for company and board presentations.

● Develop and execute consumer events, community sponsorship activities, and other unique opportunities as they arise.

● Manage the Public Relations firm to deliver on press coverage goals, unique content, and media opportunities, including speaking engagements for CEO and award submissions for products and key FoodState team members.

● Manage media planning and buying activities with outside agency, including added-value campaigns and push media-partners to provide unique and unexpected ways of reaching their audience.

● Manage the day-to-day needs of the MegaFood website with the Digital Experience Specialist - including design, content, updates, upgrades, and analytics.

● Manage Social Media, Blogger Outreach and consumer newsletters with the Social Engagement Activist to deliver unique content, contests, videos, and education.

● Develop and manage campaigns to highlight our Big T Transparency efforts.

● Create video concepts, scripts and direct video productions and editing.

● Manage design staff and outside agencies in meeting creative deliverables.

● Communicate all consumer marketing and PR activities to the entire FoodState Family - especially the sales team - so they have the tools to #buildtrust with our retailers by showing them all efforts the company puts forth to advertise and build awareness for the brand.

● Develop, input and manage budgets for areas of responsibility

● Hire staff, conduct performance reviews and set bonus objectives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

● Bachelor Degree in Marketing or Communications and a minimum of 6 years marketing communications experience.

● Strong creative, strategic, analytical, interpersonal, and project management skills.

● Demonstrated success in leading teams, executing against strategy, and delivering results.

● Experience managing outside creative agencies or partners (PR, Adv or other).

● Willingness to work on projects with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.

● Must be a team player with a “can do” attitude.

● Must have an understanding of price/value when purchasing services and a proven track record of negotiating contracts for marketing and creative services.

We are recruiting for a Territory Leader for the Baltimore territory.  MegaFood Territory Leaders call on health food stores to increase sales in current accounts as well as generate new business.  MegaFood Territory Leaders will educate and train stores on product information as well as the value of the MegaFood Brand.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    

  • Understands and conveys MegaFood vision, core values and what makes the brand/company unique in the industry
  • Visits on average 4-5 stores daily to increase dollars and shelf space and writes orders in current accounts
  • Identifies and qualifies new accounts within territory
  • Educates and trains store staff on product knowledge and value of the brand
  • Creates and maintains schedule (per period) of daily contacts and provide weekly contact reports
  • Participates in weekly conference calls with Regional Sales Leader and Territory Leaders
  • Attends and participates in sales meetings
  • Meets or exceeds company quotas in all product lines.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Human Resources Manager

PRIMARY PURPOSE AND FUNCTIONS:

The People team at FoodState is focused on finding and keeping great people.

Reporting to the Director of the People Team, the People Team Manager will be responsible for building upon and maintaining our strong people culture where employees love to work.  This role will own core people-related programs from concept to execution. Collaborating cross functionally and having  high visibility with other leaders, the People Team Manager will provide leadership and HR support by prioritizing and managing the day to day functional, HR activities with two strong direct reports who are responsible for benefits administration and recruiting.  This role may partner with our parent company in organizational initiatives that will enhance FoodState’s compensation and benefits programs.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:    

HR Administration

  • Enhance or develop human resource systems that improve overall operation and effectiveness of the organization, overseeing the human resource suite of software and necessary reports for critical analyses of the HR function and the people resources.
  • Keep abreast of HR best practices and all federal, state and local employment laws (including ADA, EEOC, ERISA, FLSA, FMLA, MMLA, etc.), and work with the leadership team to ensure compliance with labor laws, OSHA standards, etc.
  • Revise or author and implement FoodState’s personnel policies in collaboration with the Executive team.
  • Oversight of the departmental budget.
  • Oversight of engagement initiatives such as annual culture survey, external benchmarking surveys.
  • Observe and evaluate the internal and external environment to improve HR policies and initiatives to enhance employee engagement and overall business performance.
  • Oversight of compliance requirements with our parent company.

Employee Benefits Program

  • Lead and oversee the execution of overall benefits programs (401k, medical, dental, vision etc.) programs for FoodState.
  • Provide coaching, mentorship and career development to our Benefits Administrator.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for benefits programs and be well versed in reporting requirements for all benefits plans (e.g. 401k, medical, dental, vision, life, flexible spending accounts, and voluntary benefits offerings), in accordance with plan documents, policies and procedures.
  • Periodically complete competitive benchmarking and analysis to ensure that we are aligned with market conditions and able to attract and retain top talent.
  • Make formal recommendations for implementation of benefit enhancements.
  • Develop effective communications to ensure benefits programs are fully understood by all employees.
  • Oversee  FMLA leave of absence, as well as maintain all personal medical information in compliance with HIPPA.

Organizational Development
 

  • Use HR knowledge and engagement and effective performance management practices to provide strategic HR solutions for employees and the business.
  • Lead Flight School initiatives to anticipate, design, and implement continuous transformation consistent with business objectives, trends and needs.
  • Oversee the Performance Management process to ensure that it meets the needs of the company and employees.
  • Provide counsel to leadership on handling of employee performance issues.

Talent Management
 

  • Partnering with the leadership team, establish and execute an on-going talent-review process to ensure the organization has the right people, in the right roles doing the right thing.
  • Introduce and oversee a process ensuring the existence of individual development plans for Hi-Potential employees identified through the talent review process.
  • Drive people processes  to ensure that employee performance levels and capabilities meet current and future requirements.
  • Use key talent insights to drive and challenge talent pipeline forecasting and planning requirements in line with the function/business strategy.
  • Manage specific talent projects as determined by business strategy, as well as participate in functional and cross functional initiatives

Coaching & Employee Advocacy
 

  • Understand the challenges of  managing a multi-generational workforce and work with leaders to empower them  to coach employees on both personal and organizational objectives.
  • Use HR knowledge and engagement and effective performance management practices to provide strategic HR solutions for employees and the business.
  • Observe and evaluate the internal and external environment to improve HR policies and initiatives to enhance employee engagement and overall business performance.
  • As the business evolves, will enhance or add existing policies that are consistent with our company’s mission and values.  

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • A minimum of 7 years of prior Human Resources Generalist and Leadership experience is preferred
  • Experience supporting front-line, field-based client groups is required; Practicing HR in a manufacturing or distribution center environment is preferred.
  • Bachelor's Degree required; major in Industrial/Labor Relations, Human Resources Management, psychology, or other related field preferred
  • PHR or SPHR preferred
  • Understanding of, and some experience with, most or all of the core aspects of Human Resource Management (staffing; employee relations; performance management; leadership development; training)
  • Ability to think strategically and translate concepts into actionable items
  • Previous talent management and succession planning experience preferred
  • Proven ability to influence decision making
  • Courage to make tough decisions and deliver difficult messages with professionalism and poise
  • Comfortable working in ambiguous business situations
  • Strong expertise in developing solutions based upon facts/data analytics
  • Must possess consultative style and approach with proven ability to develop credible relationships with business partners
