Can this be chewed if I have problems swallowing pills?

If you are having difficulty swallowing these tablets you may crush or break them up. They will be just as effective as taking them whole, though please note that palatability may be a concern.

How much potassium is there in this supplement?

Great question. Our Zinc formula has no added potassium.

Why isn't there a small amount of copper to balance this?

The decision not to include copper in our zinc formulation was based on the fact that accumulation of Copper in body tissues can create health problems, and copper deficiency is relatively uncommon in America. While it is true that high zinc intakes can deplete copper stores, this would generally be true of supplementation levels higher than those found in our MegaFood Zinc supplement. If you prefer a little additional copper, please consider taking the zinc formulation in conjunction with a foundational multi-vitamin that contains some copper.

Is this safe to take while pregnant or breastfeeding?

Our Zinc would be ok for most people to use during pregnancy or breastfeeding. If you are uncertain whether a product is suitable for your needs, or you need advice on which combinations of products would be ok to use, please consult with your healthcare practitioner.

Why do you add autolyzed yeast extract to this formulation? From my research it is MSG - Mono sodium glutamate. I have a reaction to that ingredient. Your products appear to clean, yet, I have noticed that you add this ingredient to some of your other formulations. Please advise why MSG is used. Thank you.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful question - we totally understand your concern! Unfortunately, there is a lot of misinformation regarding autolyzed yeast and its relationship to MSG. While autolyzed yeast contains a naturally-occurring amino acid called glutamate, which can also be found in MSG, they are very much different substances.
