Chocolate Banana Overnight Oats

Ingredients:

  1. 1 ripe banana, mashed

  2. 1 cup rolled oats (gluten-free if needed)

  3. 1 cup milk (dairy or plant-based)

  4. 2 tablespoons cocoa powder

  5. 2 tablespoons maple syrup or honey (adjust to taste)

  6. 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

  7. A pinch of salt

  8. Optional toppings: sliced banana, mini chocolate chips, sliced strawberries, a dollop of yogurt, or a sprinkle of granola.

Instructions:

  1. In a medium-sized bowl, mash the ripe banana with a fork until smooth.

  2. Add the rolled oats, cocoa powder, maple syrup (or honey), vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the bowl with the mashed banana.

  3. Pour in the milk of your choice and mix all the ingredients together until well combined.

  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap or a lid and refrigerate overnight, or for at least 4-6 hours, to allow the oats to soften and absorb the flavors.

  5. In the morning, give the oats a good stir. If the mixture seems too thick, you can add a splash of milk to reach the desired consistency.

  6. Serve the overnight oats in individual bowls and let your kids have fun with the toppings. They can add sliced bananas, mini chocolate chips, fresh strawberries, a dollop of yogurt, or a sprinkle of granola on top.

  7. Enjoy your delicious and nutritious Chocolate Banana Overnight Oats!

Feel free to adjust the sweetness or cocoa content according to your kids' preferences. This recipe is versatile, and you can customize it with different fruits, nuts, or seeds to make it even more exciting for the little ones!
