It’s self-care September! It’s important to take time, slow down and take care of your number one, you! An at home spa day is an easy place to start and your fridge is a great place to find ingredients. Repurpose fruits & veggies past their prime into a natural self-care routine!

Remember that everyone's skin and hair can react differently to natural ingredients, so it's essential to do a patch test before trying any new treatment extensively. Additionally, consult with a dermatologist or skincare professional if you have any skin concerns or conditions.

Avocado Face Mask:

  • Mash half of a ripe avocado in a bowl until it becomes a smooth paste.
  • Apply the avocado paste to your clean face, avoiding the eye area.
  • Leave the mask on for 10-15 minutes to allow the nutrients to penetrate the skin.
  • Rinse off the mask with lukewarm water and pat your face dry with a clean towel.

Cucumber Eye Treatment:

  • Cut two thin slices of cucumber and place them in the refrigerator for a few minutes to cool.
  • Lie down and place the chilled cucumber slices over your closed eyes.
  • Relax for 10-15 minutes while the cucumber soothes and reduces puffiness around the eyes.

Lemon Skin Brightening Scrub:

  • Mix equal parts of lemon juice and granulated sugar in a bowl to create a scrub.
  • Gently massage the scrub onto damp skin in circular motions, focusing on areas with dark spots or uneven tone.
  • Rinse off with water and apply a moisturizer afterward, as lemon can be drying to the skin.

Carrot Face Mask:

  • Grate a carrot and blend it to create a smooth paste.
  • Apply the carrot paste to your clean face, avoiding the eye area.
  • Leave the mask on for 15-20 minutes to let the beta-carotene work its magic.
  • Rinse off the mask with lukewarm water and pat your face dry with a clean towel.

Spinach Hair Mask:

  • Blend a handful of fresh spinach leaves until you have a smooth puree.
  • Apply the spinach puree to your damp hair, focusing on the roots and tips.
  • Cover your hair with a shower cap and let the mask sit for 30 minutes to an hour.
  • Rinse your hair thoroughly and follow with your regular shampoo and conditioner.

Aloe Vera Sunburn Relief:

  • Cut an aloe vera leaf lengthwise and scoop out the gel using a spoon.
  • Apply the aloe vera gel directly to the sunburned or irritated skin.
  • Allow the gel to absorb into the skin, providing a soothing and cooling effect.
